It\’s Officially Summer!!

 My Summer Yard Makeover!!
Since the last images I showed you guys of my flower garden back in early spring, the deer completely cleaned me out. All of the buds on my many stargazer lilies are gone, which means I won\’t get a single bloom out of any of them this year. This upset me so much, because it makes the second time they\’ve done this to me, so I decided to buy a product called Deer Stop. so far it has worked amazing, and I\’m so glad because we decided to revamp the yard with new flowers and trees. We found some trees on sale, so we got 3 flowering pear trees, and 3 dogwood trees. I was looking for something that didn\’t get to huge, and bloomed in the spring. The flowering pear also has the cute little berries on it that give off a sweet fragrance. We planted them in a line along the edge of our back yard to add a little privacy.
I figure once they get a little bigger they\’ll throw off the perfect amount of shade and privacy that is needed for the the patio were building back by the shed. We\’re adding a table and umbrella with some nice chairs, and a fire pit. We have a huge back yard and we felt like it was tie to finally start to utilize it. We plan to build a brick paver platform to sit everything atop of. To brighten up the area and make it warm and cozy we lined the whole are with orange hibiscus plants. Wow are they gorgeous, and aside from Stargazer Lilies they\’re a favorite of mine. The colors are like a fire, they are a and electric pink in the very center, then a bright red, and fade into orange, and then yellow on the outer edges. It\’s an absolutely gorgeous transition of colors, G@d is a true artist.
We also picked up some magnolias to make the mulch beds around the trees in the front yard pop. We got a bright orange/yellow color so it would match the hibiscus. Which we also added two of in the front yard flower garden as well.

It was looking a bit bear after the dear ate everything. I got smart and bought a product to keep them away so they wouldn\’t eat up all of my new flowers. Fingers crossed …so far so good!! It\’s called Deer Stop, and all you do is spray the barrier of your flower beds, and it keeps them away with a scent that triggers their flight response. It had a sell when I sprayed it but when it dried the smell disappeared just like the bottle said. I\’m glad to say that I don\’t see the deer in groups of four eating up my flowers in the early hours of the morning on my security cameras.

Up until a week ago all of my rose bushes were bare on the front side and only the roses that were up against the wall of my house remained, because they couldn\’t reach. I\’m so glad it worked because this means next year I\’ll get my blooms out of my stargazer lilies…woo hoo!!

Now you know my gardening gloves had to be pink…lol!
Here\’s a couple pictures of how we lined the shed with the hibiscus plants. There was a gap under the shed that was unsightly that we wanted to hide, and warm the area up at the same time. As you can see it\’s just not to attractive to the eye, so check out the bottom picture of after, and tell me what you think. I really like the way it turned out, we also added a trash can barrier to the backside of the shed, to hide the cans from view. We are only half finished with that project, so I\’ll definitely update you guys when it\’s finished. Same with the patio and deck, which I\’m super excited about.
I can\’t wait to have a spot to chill, have a cup of coffee and do my work in the morning and afternoons to enjoy the outside and beautiful summer weather. We plan to add in some bluetooth speakers that look like rocks so I can listen to some tunes if I want. I\’m so happy about the possibilities and even happier that Rob is super handy and can do all of the things we dream about, you know make them a reality. If it was something we had to pay a contractor to do, it would be way to expensive, therefore it would never happen. Most of the stuff we do together as a team, so that makes it even more
awesome that we did it ourselves, it looks fantastic, and we saved a ton of money.  I even have a great little spot for my Noonbug all planned out. If you\’ve completed a recent home project, I\’d love to hear all about it. I\’m always on the hunt for cool new ideas.
Here\’s to a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Happy Sunday Hons!!

Hon Fest 2017 A Little On The Sweet Side!!
Happy Sunday Hon!
Today I have a fantastic review and some super colorful pictures to share. Yesterday Rob and I went to the Hon Fest, which is a great little festival held in Hamden of Baltimore City MD. Everyone dresses up in a Bawlmer style that is unique and unlike any other, as you will see in the pictures. All of the ladies wear their hair high in a bouffant style, or they wear big rollers in their hair, some even had Marge Simpson like wigs that were super high and decorated with birds, flowers, and all types of other interesting trinkets  The coolest was the woman below, she had on the wildest costume of the evening. It was a fat suite all dolled up to match the theme perfect, she even stood in a stance to give it the perfect cartoon feel, it was awesome.

I saw one family that was all dressed to match and it was so cute. Mom had on a Maryland flag dress, and matching purse, with a yellow boa, then Dad and Son each had on a white button down top, with red shorts, yellow suspenders, and Maryland bow ties to match. Their cute little long haired chi also matched, with an adorable little black and yellow harness. I\’d have to say it was absolutely one of my favorite costumes of the day, out of all the different crazy looks I saw. Rob even stopped and took a picture with a couple\’a hons to get into the spirit, wow was it hilarious. He\’s such a good sport, I even saw one guy walking around with a huge snake draped over his shoulders. I never got a chance to ask what kind of snake it was but wow!! It was the size of swimming noodle, you know the ones that you use as a floaty in the pool. I couldn\’t imagine the weight and the warmth, it was so bright and sunny at about 90 degrees, so I\’m guessing it wasn\’t to comfy to carry that big boy around.

To beat the heat Rob and myself each got tall strawberry banana daiquiris, they were perfect for the crazy heat. There were also so many things to eat, but with it being so hot I just wasn\’t in the mood to stuff my face even thought there were so many yummy choices. Remember the breakfast spot called Cafe Hon I was telling you guys about a month or so back, that is the center of all this awesomeness, and definitely the place I would have stopped to eat in had I been in the mood. I go there for breakfast on the weekends, they have this amazing southwest grits platter that will blow you away. (Keep an eye out I\’ll be doing a review post on this resturant soon) For the most part we just schemed around, looking at all the cool little stands, and chachkies, sipping on our daiquiris.

I got smart and wore my big floppy hat to keep myself shaded and cool, along with my new VS Pink tee that has the v-cut laced opening in back, this keeps me cool, along with the matching sheer capri leggings. They\’re super thin and really cool so they were perfect. I\’m one of those people that can not take the hot weather, I get overheated very easily. Since I knew it would be so hot I avoided any makeup except eyeliner. As we made our way further thru all of the stands of cool Baltimore themed trinkets, food, and many different types of people in costumes of all kinds, I came to one of my favorite places to get Macaron cookies. It\’s called Sweet Side Cafe, and it\’s a fantastic little spot not only do they have every sweet treat you can think of, they also have an ice cream bar where you can create your own custom sundae. If your not in the mood for sweets, they also have a menu of great stuff for breakfast and lunch, along with coffee and tea. There\’s a section out front with wifi and cute little tables, where you can sit down to eat, chat, or both. It\’s the perfect spot to chill and hang out with friends and family, or just sit down with your laptop and get some work done while you sip and chew. Now I\’ve searched all of Baltimore for a good spot that sells Macaron cookies, and cute ones at that. I have seen pictures of the coolest decorated macs online, but I just couldn\’t seem to find them in my area, until I found the Sweet Side that is. I picked up some decorated like unicorns, and others that look just like little cheeseburgers. They\’re so adorable, and not to mention absolutely delicious. Now you guys know sweets are my thing, so if I tell you about a spot it\’s for sure a good one, and I\’m definitely recommending Sweet Side Cafe!! It\’s located at: 3543 Chestnut Ave, in Baltimore MD, go check them out you won\’t regret it.

The Festival is still going in until 11pm tonight (Sunday June 11th 2017) there\’s live music, food, and lots of fun stuff planned for the main stage location, in the center of the festival. All of this is taking place on 36th Street, the heart of Hamden, in Baltimore City. We saw Rob Fahey and the Pieces, and they\’re always a treat. I love going to see local Baltimore bands! We\’re heading over to Pier 6 Pavilion tonight to see Bryan Adams, so that should be fun, I love his music, man does he have a lot of hits. We went to see him in DC last year, what a great show that was. As you come to know me more, you\’ll see that Rob and I go to a lot of concerts, it\’s one of out favorite things to do. Anyway make sure you head out to Hon Fest 2017 and have some fun, but make sure to dress cool because it\’s smokin\’ hot out today.
Have a wonderful week and let us know below what your favorite yearly festival is to attend in your local area? We\’d love to know!!

Getting Matchy-Matchy!!

Match-Matchy
Me & My Noonbug just gettin\’ a little #matchymatchy! 🎀
I scooped the adorable bows from @emmaandclaireshop on Instagram, she makes the cutest stuff, go check out her shop!! I\’ve been looking all over the Internet for a shop or store that sells matching clothes for fur mama and furbaby but I just can\’t find one. If you know a spot please let me know. I would love ❤️ to get a matching set of onesie pajamas. Then I could take a great picture of us snuggling in bed, with popcorn, watching a movie. That would be a great picture, and speaking of pictures I did that shot I was telling you guys about and even thought it was 90 degrees and my hair became a yucky mess, she managed to get some amazing pictures. I really had a wonderful and comfortable experience with her, if you ever need some good shots definitely hit her up. Her Instagram account is @viktoriia_petrusha I\’m gonna do another one and this time I\’ll be sure to do it early morning or early evening. I also plan to get a little more dressy. I can\’t wait to hear what you guys think of the shots. Note I\’m not a big makeup person, I wear a little to accentuate my features, but I don\’t put on a ton to totally cover and change them. Most do the time you\’ll see em with very little or no makeup, I just feel more comfy that way. I remember once I had a makeup artist do my face and I remember feeling so uncomfortable. It\’s just not me. As you guys get to know me more, you\’ll see that I\’m as real as they come, being phony is as far from my personality as you can get.

Ps…This shirt has me looking like a little chubster!! :p

Enough about me, I want to show you guys this yummy little dish I made for dinner last night. It\’s a chicken curry, and it turned out amazing. It was so easy to make with the most basic of ingredients. The chicken sat on a bed of Mexican rice, then I sided it with celery, fresh sliced carrots, grape tomatoes, avocado, homemade corn salsa, and thin tortilla chips. I\’m a big lover of Middle Eastern food, well let\’s put it this way…I\’m a big lover of food in general, so I\’m always on the look out for new recipes. I find that there\’s always an abundance of good one\’s on Pinterest, as well as plenty of great tutorial videos on YouTube. I think with the right amount of practice anyone can cook an amazing meal.

I also have a seriously AMAZING Dessert Diva post coming up this Saturday so make sure you stop back. Ive been working on it all week. Unfortunately I can\’t add video here to blogger for y\’all to see, so when I do post it I\’ll add in the link to My Facebook Page so you will be able to see the full length version. I promise if you\’ll LOVE IT, especially if you have a wicked sweet tooth like me.

A Trip To The Zoo

The Baltimore Zoo!
Happy Tuesday Dolls!
I went on a trip to the Baltimore Zoo the other day and as always I took Nunah with me. As a service dog she gets to go places that most dogs wouldn\’t. This is what makes our trips so much fun!! The animals were surprised and so so curious.

Our first stop was the flamingos and I have to say they\’re definitely one of my favorites. Their color is beyond beautiful, and they have the coolest temperaments. The females were sitting on little mounds, just nudging the little area as f it were a nest. The males were standing around fluffing their feathers up, and spreading their wings to try and make themselves look bigger and be seen, as most men do…lol!! Those that were otherwise engaged in mating rituals were so mellow, just standing around on one leg, dipping their heads in the water. As they say just chillin\’, they were the least impressed by our presence.

Next up was the Giraffes and wow where they tall. I have to say Noon and the male giraffe were involved in a staring match for some time. He was really interested in us, so much so that he followed us from end to end of his big enclosure. There were three of them in one area, and another two females in the inner section. I wanted to take Noon up to the feeding platform with me, but I figured it may upset them both being that close together, so I passed on that idea.

They had such long legs that when they walked fast, it looked like they were running. As you can see in the picture they appear to be in a hurry, but in all actuality their just galloping along in. They had the loudest clop like some massive clydesdale horses. As we were leaving their enclosure they had this little board that you could stick your head into for a picture. I just couldn\’t help myself, I had Rob hold Nunah so I could take a picture…lol!!

Its sooooo cute!!
The Afrian enclosure was next up, they had a Rhino, an Ostrich and a bunch of other stork like birds all running around together in the one area. It\’s neat because they are in an atmosphere just like in the wild, that I think is cool. Bummer they were so far away, I wasn\’t able to get a good picture. Plus it was a gray day, and due to the overcast there was no good sunlight. Hence the dull images, which I apologize for. Next time I\’m taking the good camera and lenses. This was a last minute thing that we just decided to do, so I didn\’t have the opportunity to take all of my gear. The big cats were not out in their cages, which was super disappointing because they\’re my favorite. While it\’s a shame these animals are here and not in the wild running free, it makes me wonder if they\’re not safer. I mean at least here they\’re free from predators, and the selfish evil humans that kill them for their skin and bones. There are so few leopards and tigers in the world today, that they could be gone from the world forever. There safe here for the most part…aside from that story I heard that in Africa poachers literally went inside the Zoo and killed a Rhino and sawed off his tusk. They tried to get the 2nd one but their tools failed, thank goodness because it saved that animals life.

This is one of the stork like birds I was talking about. It had bright red eyes, and the coolest markings on the inner feathers of it\’s wings. It would stand there and spread them out, and wow did these little guys move around fast. They would do this running thing and spread their wings to kinda coast around on the breeze, it was neat.

I have to say the coolest animals were the primates, they were so neat with the way they reacted to Nunah. This little guy was so sweet and gentile, he took his little hands and put them thru the tiny bars as if to reach out to Nunah. It was the cutest thing, not to mention his adorable style…his eyes were so wild looking that they were almost hypnotizing. They were bright yellow, with the tiny black pupil dots in the middle. Then he had this fluff on either side, with a black line down the middle. Almost like a reverse mohawk…lol!!

The best was the Chimp enclosure, wow you guys would not believe it. I wish I could post a video here, because you would be amazed. The minute they noticed us every chimp in the enclosure came up to us and crowded around the little area where we stood. One big male grabbed a barrel and brought it up right in front of us and sat down. He then started tapping on the glass to Nunah, as to get her attention. Noon sniffed at the class curiously in return…it was so cute. Until he started hitting and kicking the glass very hard, he got upset when he couldn\’t touch her I guess. Wow are they strong, I had no idea how hard hey could hit. Noon heard that and said I\’m outta here, and I don\’t blame her it can be a bit scary, especially for a little 15lb minpin.

I have to say it was a great little day trip, and definitely something I can see us doing again as a family in the near future. I think next time we\’ll go to the DC zoo, and I make sure i bring the good camera..lol! Each animal had it\’s own little personality and swagger, I can definitely see now where the writer for Madagascar got the idea. Each animal is so neat in their own way, and an amazing creation. I guess we know who the real artist is huh?
Well you guys have a good one, I recently got the cutest new duds for Nunah, and the yummiest Dessert Diva post coming up on Saturday, so make sure you stop back.
PS…Do you have any ideas for a dun day trip??

Dessert Diva

Fruit & Yogurt Parfait

Good Morning & Happy Passover and Easter Everyone!!
I\’ve been super sick with the flu for the past few days, so this weeks #DessertDiva post is a tad late, as well as skimpy. Please forgive me, I just didn\’t have the energy to do a full shoot, and write out the recipe. I feel somewhat better today, which is good because tomorrow I\’m going to spend the day with my amazing family, at my brother\’s house in Harpers Ferry, WVA. His house is literally at the top of a mountain, with the most beautiful view. I\’ll definitely take pictures to show you guys, along with the litter of baby piglets he has. They\’re the cutest little things! Anyway, back to the yummies I have for you guys. This week I took a ride on the healthy side, with a homemade yogurt #parfait. It\’s layers or raspberry yogurt, fresh sliced, strawberries , blackberries, whipped cream, and chunks of a @nutshell_co granola bar in between, to give it some crunch. That extra texture takes it from fantastic, to absolutely amazing. It didn\’t come out as pretty as I had in mind. See I found out that when I feel like crap, my patience goes right out the window, thus I had none left to make it look as amazing as it tastes! Making yogurt isn\’t as hard as I thought it would be. What\’s your favorite yogurt? Do you like it with or without toppings? Also I\’d love to hear some ideas of what you guys would like me to do upcoming #DessertDiva posts on. I\’m always looking for new ideas.
Have a wonderful holiday no matter what you celebrate!!

Rock The Cazbar!

\”The Cazbar\”

Hello Everyone I\’m back with a restaurant review that you must read, especially if you live in, or visit the Baltimore area. I found this little spot, while looking for somewhere new and different to eat in downtown Baltimore. I came across The Cazbar at: 316 N. Charles St., by way of Yelp.  They had it listed under 4.5 stars out of 5, so I figured we\’d give it a try. I love middle eastern food, I mean come on I\’m Jewish, but I had never eaten Turkish food until then, so I thought we\’d give it a try. Boy am I glad we did, because it was amazing!! The food was out of this world, it had a spicy flare and was packed full of flavor. Plus the staff was all so nice, and because it was our first time eating with them, she took a minute to explain the menu and entrees to us.
Which I thought was fantastic.

The menu was full of so many choices. hey had all kinds of Kabobs, many different salads, lamb, fish, chicken, pork, and even vegetarian choices. Since I don\’t eat pork, I chose a chicken dish. It was cubed chicken, smothered in a delicious tomato sauce, with peppers, onions, and spices. Rob got the grilled salmon dish, he to was blown away. Each dish came with the two sides of a salad and rice. The rice was a white whole grain rice with a few grains of brown mixed in, it was so good. Its hard to imagine me going on about the rice, but it was outta this world. Everything had an authentic Middle Eastern flavor to it. When I go to a restaurant that\’s what I want, an authentic experience. This is why I love food so much, it\’s a great way to explore different cultures.

The chicken was moist and cooked just right, I can\’t find one thing to complain about. I enjoyed every bite!! They even have a promotion on Thursday night\’s, where the wine is 50% off, and on Friday and Saturday nights they have belly dancing at 9 & 9:30 pm. It\’s free and just part of the dinning experience, which I thought was really cool. We want on a Thursday night, but we definitely plan to go back on a Friday or Saturday night so we can check it out. They have a bar and a great drink/wine menu as well. So if you\’re interested in a very authentic & quite delicious Turkish/Middle Eastern meal, you have to check this cute little spot out. It\’s super cozy and has a great vibe. It\’s one of those places where you can go and feel super comfortable, and there aren\’t many places like that left in Baltimore City!!
If you go please let me know what you ordered…I know you\’re gonna love it no matter what it is!
Have a Good One Dolls!

Spring Sediments!

 Spring Is Here To Stay!!

Well it looks like spring is finally here to stay, and I\’ll tell yah I couldn\’t be happier. For a time there it would get warm, then cold, then warm again, then it snowed, and it was starting to get very frustrating. Yesterday it was 73 degrees, and today it\’s 75 degrees. I love it! My cherry 🍒 blossom tree is in full bloom, with lots of beautiful flowers. Obviously Nunah loves it as well, she\’s always out front laying under it\’s shade!! This morning Rob took a trip to Home Depot for a few things, and saw that the pansies were on sale, and bought a bunch of them. Unfortunately he didn\’t know they\’re not hearty enough for all summer, but he did also get some mini daffodils 🌼, which turned out to be quite beautiful.
I think with my magenta knock out, and long stem roses 🌹 along with all of the stargazers, I should have plenty of color this year. As long as the deer don\’t eat them. I\’m definitely going to find a good deer repellent this year, because last year they ate every stargazer bud, like a week before they were set to bloom. I was so mad all summer because there were so many, and I know had they not messed with them, they would have been so plentiful. If you guys know any good repellant methods, please let me know. (The shot below is Nunah catching one in the act, eating our neighbors flowers.
This is one of the reasons that I haven\’t started my veggie garden. See the idea has been bouncing around in my head for 2 summers now, but I won\’t have a way to keep them out. Unless I chicken wire it all in, and I don\’t think that would be to favorable to the eye. Then it would be a fuss when I cut the grass, because I would have to weedwhack it, and get inside to de weed it. And whilst we\’re on the subject, spring means the start of cutting the lawn…ughhh! I\’ll ad it\’s great exercise that I\’m always in need of, but it get monotonous having to do it constantly once a week. Sometimes twice, depending on how much it rains. I call it lawn slavery…lol! Only because I have a huge lawn, and it takes forever. Usually I do one half, and Rob does the other half. That way it\’s a joint effort, plus its just to much for just once person to take on. Ahh well, I figure that if deer and cutting the grass are my only gripes, that I\’m in a good place. What\’s your gripes about spring? It\’s such an amazing season it\’s hard to find many. Passover has begun, and I\’m definitely looking forward to all of the amazing meals with my friends and family.

Which reminds me, I have an amazing restaurant review coming up for the next post, so if you love ❤️ food, and or you\’re a Baltimore dweller, definitely stop back Wednesday. I have the best spot to share with you! Have a great day Dolls, and keep an eye out for upcoming posts. Also if you didn\’t verify your email address after you subscribed please do so asap, because the entry isn\’t complete until you do so!! 😘😘

Welcome to Our Fab Fash Life!! 😉

Welcome to Our Fab Fash Life!
Hello Everyone, I want to introduce myself and welcome all of you to my our blog. My name is Dana, and the cutie pie in the picture with me is my baby girl Nunah, or Noon as I so affectionately call her. We live in Baltimore MD, just outside of DC about 15 minutes from the Inner Harbor. A lot of you know me from Instagram @DanaStargazerTruitt where I have been doing a short version of blogging for about 3 years. After the advice and help of a very sweet, and good friend of mine, Joannah (pssst..go check out her blog by clicking on her name😉!) I decided to take up an actual blog, and talk about the day to day adventures of Noon and I. It will include all things fashion, food, beauty, fun, and furbaby, as well as lots of giveaways. I am an Instagram Loop Organizer, so I\’m always hosting a giveaway of some sort. I really look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you. I\’d love to start off by asking what you would look forward to seeing in upcoming posts, what your favorite content is?  On Wednesday\’s I host a walk for Noon\’s friends, and on Friday I post the feature video. Then on Saturday\’s I do my Dessert Diva post. It\’s a post for anyone that has a killer sweet tooth. For the most part I will be blogging about all people, places, and things Baltimore, or in the trip-state area, meaning DC, VA, and MD. Make sure you come back on 4/9 at 1pm est, because i will be hosting my first blog giveaway. Once follower will get to choose one of three fabulous prizes. A Macbook, or an iPhone or $900 PayPal Cash, so make sure you stop back!
I\’m off to buy and plant the spring flowers, it started out rainy and gray this morning but thankfully  the sun came out, and is shining away. Now seems like a better time than ever to get started on the spring yard work. I went to Home Depot and looked around for some flowers to add in with my Stargazer Lilies, which happen to be my favorite flower, hence my Instagram name. I was hoping for something a little more hearty than pansies, which was all they had at the moment. All that I wanted that is, I think Im going to go to Valley View Farms in Towson, they have thee best stuff always!! That\’s where I bought the cute little cherry blossom tree that I planted in the front yard last year. For the first time we got a bloom out of it in mid March, and oh my goodness is it pretty. I\’ll definitely post a picture of it when I show you guys the finished flower boxes. I better hop to and get to work, spring always brings on a ton of things to do. Im just realizing that we have to start cutting the grass again very soon…ughh! Its a never ending cycle but I wouldn\’t give it up for the world, I love our little house, because it\’s our own little piece of the world. The little square that we\’ve carved out for ourselves. Ya\’ll have a great day, and remember if you\’d like to see more in between blog posts, just follow us on Instagram Facebook or Twitter! 💋
